RANCHO CORDOVA (Jan. 7, 2005) – The Capital City Mountain Goats Four-Wheel Drive Club will mark four decades of four-wheeling adventures and hundreds of community projects with its 40^th Anniversary Mountain Goat Hoe Down on Saturday evening, April 2, 2005 at the Rancho Cordova Elks Hall in Rancho Cordova.

According to club president Tex Texiera, all four-wheel drive enthusiasts and their families are invited to attend this upcoming gala celebration that will include a social hour followed by a mouth-watering buffet dinner, live entertainment with a country and western band, and big screen movies with club trips dating back into the sixties and seventies.

"We are very proud of this club and its accomplishments over the past 40 years," said Texiera, "and this anniversary party affords us the opportunity to share our stories and our successes with members of the four-wheel drive community."

In addition to regularly volunteering for the majority of events hosted by the California Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs, the Capital City Mountain Goats Four-Wheel Drive Club operates the 4X4 hands-on safety clinic at the Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area. They also assisted with rebuilding the bridge over the Rubicon River on the Rubicon Trail, replanted trees in many fire-devastated areas, participated in fund-raising events for underprivileged children and they host annual historical trips for sport utility vehicle owners.

Cost for tickets to the Mountain Goat Hoe Down is $28 per person and tickets must be purchased no later than March 20, 2005. Seating is limited and tickets will not be sold at the door.

The Rancho Cordova Elks Hall is located at 11440 Elks Circle in Rancho Cordova.
