FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
20th ANNUAL GRAND FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE EXCURSION
AND EPICUREAN EXTRAVAGANZA
Exciting Four-Wheel Drive Adventure
With a Six-Course Dinner Served Under the Stars
SACRAMENTO
(April 21, 2007) – The Sacramento-based Capital City Mountain Goat 4X4 Club
has announced that it will be laying out the red carpet for its guests during
its 20th Annual Grand Four-Wheel Drive Excursion and Epicurean Extravaganza at
the Big Meadows Campground in the El Dorado National Forest beginning Friday
evening, Sept. 7 and concluding on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9.
Amber Joyner, a club committee member, said this year’s event has been organized for both veteran four-wheelers and neophyte sport utility vehicle (SUV) owners.
The event begins on Friday evening at the campground with dinner served by the campfire, a no host bar, and a moonlight trip overlooking French Meadows. All four-wheel drive owners are welcome on this run.
"After
a continental breakfast on Saturday, we will be taking some participants on a
narrated and scenic trip to the top of Steamboat Mountain," said Joyner. "This
trail is not difficult and will provide a mild four-wheeling experience. For
those looking for a technical adventure, we will also lead a trip down to the
Hell Hole Reservoir; a trail that offers a challenge and huge rocks at every
turn."
On Saturday afternoon, after guests return from their off-road trips, the club will provide hot showers followed by a gourmet six-course champagne dinner featuring a choice of prime rib or chicken cordon bleu, followed by live entertainment, open air dancing and a no-host bar. All guests will receive a formal t-shirt for Saturday night activities.
On
Sunday morning, guests will be treated to a hot buffet breakfast followed by a
raffle extraordinaire.
Cost for the 2007 Four-Wheel Drive Excursion and Epicurean Extravaganza is $125 per adult; $55 for children age six to 15 years of age and children five and under are welcome free of charge. Cost includes all meals, camping fees at the Big Meadows Campground, dash plaque, raffle ticket, t-shirt, hot showers and the four-wheel drive adventure of choice. Big Meadows Campground offers running water, restrooms and parking for recreational vehicles. The event is limited to the first 80 participants and registration closes on Friday, Aug. 11.
