The following 2008 four-wheel drive events/trips
 are submitted for consideration in your Calendar of Events section.

May 17 – Off-Road Adventure in the High Sierra – Hosted by Capital City Mountain Goat 4X4 Club, this one-day adventure will take SUV and other 4WD participants from Tyler-Foote Crossing to historic Alleghany with stops at mining sites and other points of interest. Cost is $45 for adults; $20 children six through 15 and kids under five are welcome free of charge. Cost includes hot lunch on the trail, soft drinks, historical information, maps and a dash plaque. June 28 – Northern Calif. Hands-On 4X4 Safety Clinic - Especially designed course for SUV owners, this clinic offers classroom instruction and challenging hands-on driving within the Prairie City OHV Park near Sacramento. July 18-21 – 14th Annual Lassen-Applegate Emigrant Trail Ride – Retrace the same route used by 8,000 early pioneers in more than 1,500 covered wagons during 1849-1852 gold rush period. This historic, 200-mile adventure, suitable for SUV and other 4WD vehicles, will begin in Lovelock Nevada and concludes in Surprise Valley, Calif. located near Cedarville in Modoc County. Cost for the trip is $250 for adults, $125 for children twelve years of age and under. This trip is limited to first 25 vehicles registered. Aug. 7-9 – Annual Sierra Trek – Hosted by Calif. Assn. of 4-Wheel Drive Clubs, this year’s Sierra Trek will be held near Cisco Grove in the high Sierra. This year’s event offers challenging four-wheeling on the Fordyce Creek Trail and several historical SUV tours in and around Meadow Lake and Lake Tahoe. Sierra Trek is a family-oriented event and offers adult and children’s activities every day. Costs depend on runs selected and number of days in main camp.
