RECORD CROWDS VISIT ASSOCIATION AND
FOUNDATION EXHIBITS AT OFF ROAD EXPO
Foundation "Make the Grade" Exhibit joined by CA4WDC
Membership Booth and Sweepstakes Vehicle
With an estimated crowd of 40,000 off-road enthusiasts, the California Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs and its Foundation stayed extremely busy during a recent weekend at the annual Off Road Expo in Pomona, CA.
The Foundations "Make the Grade" Used Oil Recyling Exhibit
was joined by the Associations Membership booth and the new, fully decked out
Sweepstakes Jeep Wrangler. More than 600 different exhibits were featured throughout three
different buildings at the Fairplex events center.
Jack Raudy, grants manager for the Foundation, served as exhibitor for the new Used Oil Recycling display. "This was my first time down here and I was blown away with how many off highway vehicle enthusiasts come to this Expo," said Raudy. "From the time they opened the gates until closing each day, we had between five and 15 people standing in line to visit with us."
In addition to providing Expo attendees with the opportunity to view the new Make the Grade video production, they also received a package that included a new brochure, coloring book, tire gauge, magnet and funnel.
"Enthusiasts, whether four-wheelers, dirt-bikers, or dune buggy families, all seem to have a genuine interest in learning more about recycling used oil and filters and how they can do a better job of cleaning up spilled oil out on the trail," Raudy said.
Val and Dave Henry, who staffed the associations membership booth along
with
Ray Leuschner, said this was their best year ever. "We had a steady stream of
customers requesting everything from information on joining the association, where they
could ride, to purchasing association merchandise," said Val Henry. "We are
extremely indebted to Off Road Expo officials for providing us with three exhibit spaces
this year."
The 2004 Sweepstakes Jeep Wrangler that will be given away during the CA4WDC Convention in Reno in February was also a huge draw for Expo goers. While Don and Angela Cook, this years Sweepstakes Vehicle chairs, were still counting donations, they did say it appeared that this years Off Road Expo event was more successful than 2002.
