about the building fund

 

What is the Building Fund - Brick Program:
It is a capital fund-raising campaign aimed at retiring the building loan for the CA4WDC office and insures rapid development of planned improvements.

What are the details of the CA4WDC building loan?
It is a ten-year loan embarked upon in January 1999 for $185,000.00 It has a balloon payment of $131,130.61 due in 2009. There is a pre-payment penalty if the loan is paid-off within the first five years, but we can pay up to 20% of the loan each year for the first five years.

What is the current balance owing on the loan?
The principal balance of the loan as of January 29, 2002 was $171,698.03.

Who can participate in the Brick Program?
Any individual, club, or business can donate to the program.

How can I participate in the Brick Program?
It is as easy as filling out a pledge form. They are available in the In Gear, www.cal4wheel.com, or from Lisa Wegman at (916)721-3321, Donna chisum, or your District Secretary/Treasurer.

How can a pledge payment be made?
A pledge can either be paid in one lump sum or installments. For installment payments, reminder notices can be sent out monthly, quarterly or annually. Payments can be made with cash, check or credit card. Credit card payments must be made through the CA4WDC office, and Visa, Master Card, and American Express are accepted.  

Will I receive anything for my donation?
All donors will have either a plaque or personalized brick depending on the size of the donation, permanent.y displayed on the Wall of Honor at the CA4WDC office in Sacramento.

How much can I donate?
The sky is the limit. On the pledge form, there are four categories to choose from:

Supporter: Donations under $300.00
Patron: Donations $301.00 - $1000.00
Benefactor: Donations $1001.00 - $5000.00
Visionary: Donations Over $5000.00

What does the brick or plaque look like?
The brick is marble granite that can hold a personalized inscription of 3 lines, 12 characters (spaces) per line. the special Benefactor plaque is a brown granite, approximately 8 x 11, which can hold an inscription of 6 lines, 15 characters (spaces) per line.

When will my brick and /or plaque be displayed?
When your total pledge to the program is paid - in - full the brick and /or plaque will be ordered and placed on the Wall of Honor.

What is the balance of the Brick Program?
As of January 31, 2002, we have received a total of $20,339.00 in pledges. Out of those pledges, $13,449.01 has been received. there were 21 inscribed bricks, and 2 benefactor plaques on display at convention.

Where does the money from my donations get deposited?
The Brick Fund was originally housed at the Auburn National Bank from May 1999 until November 28, 2001. the account was then closed and the balance of $8,086.31 was transferred to CA4WDC's General Fund, Line item #2190.23

Why was the Auburn National Bank account closed?
at the September 2001 Board of Directors meeting, a motion was passed to transfer the current Building Fund to account #2190.23 of the General Fund and to close the account at Auburn National Bank. By transferring the funds, the General Fund account becomes a pass-through account in which money can be collected and paid out to the building loan.
