Dear Cole:

Would you be interested in an article about how four wheelers make a difference and get involved in keeping public lands open to motorized recreation?

The use of our public lands has never been so threatened as it is today. Roads are being closed at an alarming rate. The average four wheeler is usually ill informed on the easy ways to be a player in keeping their favorite trails open. I realize your publication does not normally cover this topic, but I believe it is critical that we reach out to your readers or we’ll find our sport in serious trouble.

I propose an article that blends in some family four wheeling fun adventures while delivering a strong message on the simple steps anyone can take to become involved in the management of their public lands.

Depending on your interest and space available, I would suggest the story cover:

You may have seen my columns on land use issues in other publications such as the In Gear (CA4WDC) and Blue Ribbon Magazine (Blue Ribbon Coalition). I frequently write about this subject and feel I have the expertise (and writing skills) to deliver this message in a fashion that will keep the attention of your readers.

I have also enclosed a self-addressed, stamped envelope as I would like to request your submission requirements (especially photos) and any forms (photo model releases) that you prefer.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Del Albright
