No doubt times have changed and speed with big air appeal to the generation coming up. To not address this is missing the boat imo.

Memberships bring in about $85,000 per year.

That pays at least for the Natural Resource Consultants.

How can one person say "Memberships don't make the association money. Events and donations make the money." and then find out it makes 85k?

Memberships don't make money. They pay for necessities. In gear and things like that. The brakdown is available at the board meetings. The events make the majority of the money. Trek is the biggest. Natural resource consultants combined are more than $85000.

One day events aren't realistic unless it is for a specific district.

Well that's the idea. There is no need for these events to try to draw statewide. I have no idea on the numbers but in the 8 yrs I have donated my time at Trek I do not really recall very many clubs being represented from the Central/South???

I don't have the exact numbers with me, but I do believe that Cantina on The Con (which was run by 1 club for a few yrs) was generating revenue similar to Sierra Trek.

I don’t see it that way. Something that generates income is making money.

Thanks for the clarification on the BFG event.
I was with United Four Wheel Drive Associations at the time, and nominated Fordyce for the award.
I was present at the presentation to represent UFWDA at the event.
Thanks for all you do with the trail, and your club and friends group.

According to the approved budget, the events will only make a couple of thousand over what the membership dues bring in.

Again, we are discussing the budget.
We need ideas to help overcome the shortfall in the budget.

With some simple math I came up with a way to make $75k, and no one is overworked, or over tasked (Except maybe Bonnie in the office).
3000 members all buy one extra book of jeep sweepstakes tickets at $20 = $60k
3000 members all donate $5.00 to Cal4 = $15k.

I’m not exactly sure how and where the raffle tickets are advertised, other than Cal events, but is it feasible that can be broadened?
