Pipe's Canyon Adopt-A- Trail

In mid-2000 we joined the San Bernardino Adopt-A-Trail program through the forest service and adopted Pipe's canyon @ Onyx Summit in the Big Bear area for the purpose of helping them maintain the integrity of the trails due to lack of manpower & funding. So far repairs have been done to trim trees off the trail, rebuild areas of the the trail washed away by rain, cutting down potential hazardous dead trees that could fall across the trail, filling in areas where drainage problems occur and of course picking up trash left by other people along the way. We run the trail at least twice a year reporting to the forest service our findings and plans for upcoming repairs. It's a fun in and out trail with a camping area at the bottom.  It's considered a moderate trail but we have taken stock vehicles down with no problems.
