The Lake Tahoe Hi/Lo’s Four Wheel Drive Club was established in 1966 and now includes over seventy families.  Our club’s goal is to provide family oriented outdoor recreational activities and to assist the local community with various activities and conservation projects.  We are dedicated to the protection of natural resources on public lands, which belong to every citizen to respect, protect and enjoy. We have an obligation to uphold that trust, to respect the land, and to conduct our activities in a manner that protects these lands.  With the cooperation of everyone, we can maintain our rights to use and enjoy our public lands.

We are a community organization and a member of California Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs, Tread Lightly, Blue Ribbon Coalition, and the South Lake Tahoe Chamber of Commerce.    The club in conjunction with the U.S. Forest Service, maintains an eleven-mile stretch of the famed Rubicon trail, as well as the Twin Peaks trail area n South Lake Tahoe.  Each year we host the “Gambler’s Poker Run” in Hope Valley that serves as our main fund-raiser.
