Club History!
The Club was started in 1985 by Frenchie La Chance and Marc La Fontaine both of Ramona. They met when Frenchie was Hi Desert chairman for CA4WDC. When the event was over they found a meeting place and called some of their 4X4 friends to start the club. The Club was started with the direction to be a fun club. Within a year the club had over a dozen members and the Club with Marc as Chairman of Hi-Desert Round-up for 1986 made a name for it's self. The club has had a maximum limit of 25 families and generally is 18 to 25 families. We have had people come and go for many reasons over the years, but the club continues with all of the fun it was started with.
In the 1994 time frame we had a full roster and could not grow any more, so some members split off to start another club.
We have done many things over the years some are listed below:
Adopt a Highway (2 mile section), Adopt Coyote Canyon in Anza Borrego S.P., Volunteer work with the National Forest, B.L.M., State Parks, M.D.A. Off Road For Hope, Operation Desert Fun.We are active members with San Diego Off-Road Collation, California Association of 4-Wheel Drive Clubs, United 4 wheel Drive, and others.
