Thank You! It is still sinking in that I won the sweepstakes Jeep. The smile from ear to ear is just starting to fade, a little bit. I probably sounded a little clueless on the phone when I got the call, but it had been about 10 hours since we left Florida, returning from our Family vacation, and I was pretty tired. It took me a minute to process the information, figure out that it was convention day, that it was the Association calling and it was not a prank call. I would like to offer a special thanks to those members that stayed in Visalia on Sunday, waiting for me to come pick up the Jeep. I am sure it was a long weekend for you, but I appreciated it!

I have been a member now for about 8 years. And every one of those years I would buy my $20-$40 worth of sweepstakes tickets, never thinking that I would win. But I was glad to help out the Association in this small way so that it can continue the fight to keep our enjoyment of the outdoors, with our vehicles, against all the forces who wish to keep us out. I have never owned a Jeep before, but I am a long time off road enthusiast. I have been lucky to have owned a number of 4wd rigs over the years; two FJ-40 Land Cruisers, an 80’s Toyota mini pick up truck, a full size Bronco, and two early Broncos. I am looking forward to getting to know this new Jeep and my hope is now that with "4 doors" I can get the rest of my Family out on the trails.

So let me say it again, Thank You! My thanks goes out to the Association, its Officers and employees, all the Vendors and members who contributed the parts and equipment, the Vendors who installed all those new parts, and Bev, Barbara, and Jerry Hicks who trailered the Jeep all over the state showing it off and collecting those tickets. I hope that I did not miss anyone with my thanks, but if I did please know that you have my appreciation. Thanks again and keep up the good work…
